Brief History of Business

In 2017, we moved our family to Illinois to begin work as a Union Laborer with our first daughter who was a newborn at the time. When we arrived, we were living with family and trying to save up for our own place. Mooneyham Mobile Detail was born! It was always another form of supplemental income alongside unpredictable union schedules and unexpected expenses that a young family inevitably faces, but the passion never dwindled. The desire to be self employed was always a thought in the back of my head, however, the security of my union insurance is what kept me from taking the risk. Especially after 2019, when we had our second daughter. We would come to find out that higher powers had other plans for our family! In early February 2024, I got the call that no parent & provider wants to hear “You’re all laid off. It is what it is.” After 7 years of literal blood, sweat, and I’m not embarrassed to admit - some tears, that was it. Just like that… all the hours I traded with my children, moments I would never get back, gone in the blink of an eye. I was retired like an old tool and had no idea what would be next. A week later, my wife Devin was unexpectedly let go from her company as well. We had two choices: surrender to uncertainty OR go all in on a dream! We chose the latter and prayed with everything we had. With the support of our community, friends, and family, within a month we saw what was possible. We have been sprinting ever since! My wife and I are the generational curse breakers and change makers of our family. We aren’t just creating a business, we are building a legacy! With each new client and customer, we strive to create a ripple effect. An exceptional experience in exchange for the gratitude we experience every time someone trusts us enough to support our dream.

What would people be surprised to learn about your business?

It was my high school job turned passion! I started in my one square mile town in Parker, AZ when I was 16. I’ve detailed many types of automotive vehicles, aircraft’s, watercraft’s, you name it, I’ve done it. I’ve also had several world famous clients!

What do you like best about doing business in Manhattan and/or surrounding areas?

The PEOPLE! Our community lifts each other up in times of need, shares, supports, and celebrates every chance they get. It reminds me of the small town I grew up and it’s why we chose to raise our family here. Nothing beats the relationships we have built and continue to build here.
