The Manhattan Township Historical Society is the only group keeping the history of Manhattan, Illinois alive for generations to come.

The Museum allows residents and visitors to see the progress Manhattan has made, and the interesting history it holds. By expanding our local body of historical knowledge, we will carry the legacy for future generations.

The Manhattan Township Historical Society's mission is to educate area residents about the lives, customs, activities and history of the businesses, residents, and residences of the village and township of Manhattan, IL. In October 2014, the Society opened up its first museum to better serve the community. The museum features exhibits that display the history of Village of Manhattan and Manhattan Township.
