Happy 75 th Anniversary to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home!
Forsythe Funeral Home was started by Franklin J. Forsythe on August 2, 1949. Franklin was an integral part of the funeral home until his passing on November 13, 2022 at the age of 97. Franklin's son Patrick J. Forsythe continued the business as the second generation in the Forsythe family until 2015 when the Gould family entered into the business. Patrick is still an integral part of the funeral home today. The Forsythe Gould Funeral Home continues to be family owned and operated by Jacqueline and Brett Gould. We have two full time employees Jacqueline Gould and Holly Oliver. Holly was born and raised in the Manhattan area and is currently serving her apprenticeship and shows a promising future in the industry.
Funeral directors / Morticians are a dual license. If you are a funeral director, you are an embalmer as the opposite applies. That fact seems to surprise others when they learn that all funeral directors must be able to embalm as well. Our funeral home also provides cremation services, headstone sales, and preneed services.
While Manhattan is growing and progressing in every way, the small village still exudes a quaint small town feel that allows its community members to feel safe, protected and part of a village family.
We are proud of our newly renovated 900 square foot family lounge that is designed to provide comfort to our families that we serve. We were recognized as Best of the Best Businesses in the Daily Southtown in 2021, have an A+ Better Business Bureau rating 2024 and we also pride ourselves in providing cutting edge/custom services to those that we serve.
